Volunteer Program

Eldercare Companion

Become a regular visitor to an older adult or adult with disabilities and brighten both your lives! Help with errands, doctor visits, or just sit and talk. Your companionship will provide social engagement, emotional support, reduced isolation, and lots of happy experiences.

Financial Co-Pilot

Partner with an older adult to help keep everyday money matters organized and stress-free. Help with budgeting, paying bills, looking out for scams and more. Financial stability is crucial for an older adult to live a life of dignity.

Community Mealtime

Gather your friends, family, co-workers, church members, etc. to prepare and serve a meal at one of our affordable housing communities. Bring joy and connection to the older adults and adults with disabilities who live there. Great for celebrating monthly birthdays, holiday meals, and other special days.

Fan Drive Office

May-September 2026: Help us distribute fans into hot homes and save lives!

Two ways to volunteer:

  1. Office Volunteers– distribute fans to people in need who come by the Family Eldercare office. Must commit to multiple shifts.
  2. Delivery Volunteers– deliver fans to homebound neighbors or community partners who need transportation assistance.

Host a Friend-Raiser!

It’s not a fundraiser, it’s a FRIEND-raiser!

Help us spread the word about Family Eldercare’s impact by “hosting” a small group event at one of our affordable housing communities. We’ll eat a light lunch, take a tour, learn about our support services, and listen to one of our residents share their story of hope. You provide the guest list and we do all the rest!

Event Support

Help our events come to life! Be a big part of prepping for our annual fundraising luncheon 80 Over Eighty, our Summer Fan Drive event, our Rainbow Connections ATX events, and various one-day events. Tasks include helping us set up tables, banners, register attendees, organize supplies, greet guests, and more. We always need lots of hands!

Special Group Projects

Perfect for social service organizations, church groups, scouts, or any group that is interested in making a big difference in the lives of low-income older adults and adults with disabilities – one of the most vulnerable populations in our society.

Special projects will vary by need and location. Examples:

  • Canned Food Drives
  • Household Move-In Kits
  • Property Care Crew
