Kent Herring Retiring; New CEO Search

July 5th, 2022

A Letter from our Board Chair

Dear Family Eldercare Donors and Community Partners,

In May 2022, Kent Herring announced his retirement to the Family Eldercare Board of Directors and Staff. During Kent’s tenure as Chief Executive Officer, Family Eldercare has expanded our service offerings, weathered a pandemic, and served tens of thousands of Central Texans. We are grateful for his service these past 8 years.

Kent Herring, Former CEO of Family Eldercare

The Family Eldercare Board has formed a CEO Search Committee and hired the executive search firm Good Citizen. We selected Good Citizen because of their experience with and respect for the work of social sector organizations as well as for their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We look forward to working with Good Citizen to identify a new CEO with the experience to ably guide Family Eldercare through our next stage of growth and service to the community.

We anticipate that the search and on-boarding of our new CEO will take place over the next 4 – 5 months. Kent will remain on until the search is complete, and we will work closely with him and the new CEO to support a successful transition.

Family Eldercare has served the Central Texas community for 40 years and continues to evolve to meet the emerging needs of our older adults and adults with disabilities. We are grateful to Kent for his leadership, and we look forward to introducing you to Family Eldercare’s next CEO this fall.

Sincerely,

Kim Wilson

Chair, Family Eldercare Board of Directors
