Volunteer Program

Eldercare Companion

A companion volunteer meets directly with Family Eldercare clients to provide social engagement, emotional support, and companionship to older adults and adults with disabilities, helping reduce isolation and enhance quality of life. Volunteers contribute to our mission to promote dignity, stability, and independence for older adults and adults with disabilities.

Financial Co-Pilot

Partner with an older adult to help keep everyday money matters organized and stress-free. Help with budgeting, paying bills, looking out for scams and more. Financial stability is crucial to living a life of dignity.

Community Mealtime

Volunteer groups are invited to host a meal and get to know the people we serve who live in affordable housing communities.

Great for celebrating monthly birthdays, holiday meals, and other special days.

Fan Drive Office

Beginning in 2026, Summer Fan Drive program volunteers will help get fans to Central Texans in need.

Two ways to volunteer:

  1. Office Volunteers– are trained to run our fan drive office, distribute fans to persons in need, and coordinate fan distributions to our community partners. Training required. Must commit to regular shifts. One-time volunteer opportunities are not available for this role.
  2. Delivery Volunteers– deliver fans to homebound neighbors or community partners who need transportation assistance.

Host a Friend-Raiser!

It’s not a fundraiser, it’s a FRIEND-raiser!

Help us spread the word about our impact by “hosting” a small group event. You provide the guest list and we do the rest!

Event Support

Help our events come to life! Event volunteers  assist during various stages of our seasonal events, such as 80 Over Eighty, the Summer Fan Drive Drop-Off event, Rainbow Connections ATX’s events, and various one-day events. Volunteer tasks include helping us set up tables, banners, register attendees, organize supplies, greet donors, and more. Great for groups!

Special Group Projects

Gather your friends, family, co-workers, church groups, and other members of your circle and make a big difference in someone’s life. Special projects will vary by need and location.
