Introducing Dr. Aaron Alarcon, Family Eldercare’s New CEO

Dr. Aaron Alarcón, Family Eldercare CEO

Dr. Aaron Alarcón brings more than 23 years of experience in health and human services. His experience provides a backdrop for strategic program growth with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Dr. Alarcón is deeply committed to serving people who are marginalized by our society. His passion is part of his identity. He is an immigrant. He is a member of the LGBTQ community. He is also a former undocumented person. Dr. Alarcon is excited to start this new chapter of his life in Austin, TX. He will be joined by his partner, Dr. Tomas Boatwright, and their cats Gaby and Mayari. You can read his full biography below.

Family Eldercare has continued to grow and expand to meet the needs of older adults, people with disabilities and people experiencing homelessness. We look forward to introducing you to Dr. Alarcón and celebrating Family Eldercare’s accomplishments. Join us in welcoming Aaron to our community.

Biography – Dr. Aaron Alarcón

Dr. Alarcón served most recently as the Executive Director of the Community Services Bureau of Contra Costa County. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority of Marin County, a public agency that provides in-home care to older adults and individuals with disabilities. He has also served as the Guardianship Program Director for individuals who are no longer able to make decisions about their health, finances, and safety in El Paso and Fort Worth, TX.

Dr. Alarcón earned his B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Texas at El Paso, his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Texas, and recently completed his PhD in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University. Dr. Alarcón is an immigrant, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a former undocumented person. He knows first-hand the hurdles that marginalized populations face daily in this country, and he is deeply committed to advancing systemic changes.
