Every Friday morning, you can find Clyde working on his art. Art is very important to Clyde. It fills his heart and makes him feel like part of our community. He pays for weekly art classes at the ARC of the Capital Area. He takes great pride in being able to pay for his own classes. For nearly 14 years, Clyde has been a Money Management client at Family Eldercare. Stephanie, his case worker, manages his benefits so that all his needs are met. She knows art is vital to his well-being and ensures that he is stable in all aspects of his life so that he can pursue his passion. Stephanie likes to schedule her visits with Clyde in the late afternoons, because his positive attitude is a great way to end the day.
Clyde’s face lights up when he talks about Stephanie. She is not just a case worker, she is a trusted friend.
“Stephanie is a real nice lady. She takes good care of me. Stephanie makes sure my bills are paid, so I have money for my art classes and my classes get paid for. If [Family Eldercare] weren’t there to do that for me I’d feel left out of life.”
Many seniors in our community are unable to manage their own finances because of a medical condition or disability. Donate this Valentine’s Day to help someone like Clyde fill their heart with dreams!
