HACA Receives Grants to Promote Family Self-Sufficiency
NEWS RELEASE FROM THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN – February 26, 2014
The Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) was recently awarded two grants totaling $245,979 by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Family Self-Sufficiency Programs (FSS). Through these grants residents are connected to the resources needed to become economically secure and independent of assistance.
FSS Community Partners: Community Partners are critical to helping FSS participants meet employment and other goals. ‘Services are provided by an extensive network of local service providers, including Any Baby Can, Austin Community College, Communities in Schools, Family Eldercare, Gift and Boy Scouts of Central Texas, Goodwill Industries, Skillpoint Alliance, The Boys and Girls Club of the Austin Area and YMCA, among many others.
