Recently, Carrier made a very generous donation of window air conditioning units to Family Eldercare’s Summer Fan Drive. Each summer, in addition to distributing thousands of fans, Family Eldercare also distributes and installs window ac units at no cost to individuals with serious medical conditions or who are at risk for heat related illness. Many of these individuals are frail older adults, or persons with chronic disabling health problems who are primarily homebound. For those with severe health problems, air conditioning can mean the difference between life and death. We are extremely grateful to Carrier for this donation as well as to Expert Service who has offered warehouse space to store the units. This partnership will allow us to fill all referrals received this year as well as prepare for a great start to next year’s AC distribution.
