Serving older adults, people with disabilities, and those who care for them
We coordinate the Summer Fan Drive to help keep people cool, comfortable and safe during the hottest months in Central Texas. The Fan Drive will run from June 2nd to August 31st, but fans will be available through September, depending on the temperatures. Here are a few ways that you or your group can help!
Donate Fans or Funds
Donate funds or a new fan; 14” or above oscillating fans or 21’’ box fans. You can also make an online donation Here. All donations are used to purchase fans, air conditioners and provide other critically needed services.
Coordinate a Fan Drive
Coordinate a drive through your community, church, business or civic organization. Get your group involved and bring your donations to KGSR's Fan Fare Friday at Threadgill's on June 20th and enjoy music, great food and a great cause! Click Here to confirm your participation or Click Here for an informational packet.
Deliver Fans
Help deliver fans to Central Texans suffering from the intense summer heat. Groups and individuals can participate in deliveries.
Answer the Fan Drive Hotline
The hotline is open from 9:00am - 1:00pm, Monday through Friday, accepting requests for fans from those in need. Usually, two volunteers answer phones during each shift. Requests are received and pick-ups or deliveries are coordinated. Can’t commit to the entire summer or you only have 3 days a week available? Don’t worry, schedules are flexible! For more information contact Krystal Wilson at 512-483-3557 or kwilson@familyeldercare.org.
